Changing shocks

So should I feel lucky when my rears only gave me a little problem? :D I noticed the amount of rust and the awful groan when they finally did break free, so I went to the hardware store and got some grade-8 stainless bolts to go in their place. Used liberal amounts of anti-seize as well for the next time. :P Also, the Bently says that the rears do not need a spring compressor for disassembly. Boy were they wrong. I think my heart stopped for about 10 seconds when the nut let go. Thankfully it was not under a lot of pressure and my head was out of the way. Something about a loud "pop" with parts flying when you are not expecting it.

See, and my only problematic one was the front eccentric on the 16V. That
thing was rust welded in, I'd snapped its little head off and it just would
not drift out. Took a cutting torch for heat and ice for cold to get it to
go. I think that was when I learned to swear at cars.
