OT: Vista users and wannabe's

There is a number called an experience index and it works off of the
weakest link theory. You could as in my case have something that
averages out to 3 something but it's reflected in the lowest score
which is 1.0, on my gaming graphics.

You can download the compatability thing and intall it in XP so that
it gives you an idea if your machine is "vista ready" or at least what
version you should buy.

Hypothetically speaking of course...In my case putting Vista Ultimate
on a machine that gets an experience score of 1.0 is the computer
equivilent of polishing a turd... Since nobody hacked the Vista Basic
edition I guess (sigh) I'll (hypothetically) settle for the ultimate
edition. Basicially I will just have to disable Aero (the 3d flipper
thingy--those ARE legitimate technical terms)

Now if I was buying it... 99bucks for basic or $350 for the ultimate
with features I couldn't use anyway... do the math.

Here's think link for the upgrade advisor
