OT: Unix/Gallery2 question

I just installed Gallery2 about a half hour ago on a hosted website with only ftp access.  Gallery2 has a nifty "one click" installer that does it all through an interactive script.  It worked beautifully.  

Are you using any type of FTP client?  I use FileZilla, and with it you can just right click on a file or folder and change the permissions.  Basically a chmod command only windoze-ized.  :D  (which I need!)   I guess I am assuming that your FTP login has admin privileges....

How did you install the package with only FTP access (i.e. who
launched the script(s) for you once you uploaded them?

If you're not the owner of the files, you'll have to get the owner (or
superuser or root) to change the ownership via the chown command.

But without shell access I'm not sure why you'd even want to bother,
you will only end up frustrated.
