Steering Column Repair - Lower Bearing

You can get it apart like that, but it's close to impossible to get it
re-assembled, without dropping it down, 4 6mm allens.

Subject: Steering Column Repair - Lower Bearing

Has any one removed their steering column? The Bently is not very clear as
to the complete removal. Otherwise if I diconnect the U Joint at the bottom
can I slide the inside up and out? I need to get the outer portion of the
lower bearing out of the bottom of the housing so I can install the new
one. If I could pull the inner shaft out I could drive it down and out.
