Funny, I was wondering the same thing yesterday, before I read this...

Broke measured the 80% kit effect, differently than Peloquin did.

Gary Peloquin:

I also found out that Velocity spent a lot of time and money to copy
Peloquin's 80% kit, but they couldn't perfect the shim material and loctite
on the 6mm allen bolt, and finally gave up.

Broke got different numbers with his torque test, but he proves that
Peloquin's 40%/80% kit works.

He has a bunch of cool stuff on his site, I especially like the combination
wrench used to lock the pressure plate.
