replacing engine mounts

I fabricate tranny brackets to install the 02J into the A1 chassis and I offer to press in the rubber mounts for nothing. It takes maybe 5 minutes with a press.
It's a fight with a vice, not to mention the bigassed vice at work that I busted trying to do this once.
As Gordy says, hack out the old one and take it somewhere that has a press to install them.

Instead of one cut all the way through the mount outer ring, that may also cut some of the bracket, I like to cut it in three places about 3/8" apart most of the way through. Then with a chisel you can peal one of those parts out or kind of fold it at the cuts and get it out without cutting the bracket.
