[OT] 1990 Jetta, Are you freaking kidding me????!!!



The part that looks like it is part of the case is removable. Exactly how I don't remember, but it's the same tranny case as the Scirocco has so it'll come off.

There are two brackets, one that is longer and can come off the tranny,
the other (near the linkage) looks like it is part of the tranny housing
that is the one that is in the way.

Raise the tranny and remove the bracket from it.  That's the best way I
can think to get it out of the way.  The alternative is to
drop the entire subframe.
