starter bearing question



Knowing that you are having a cranking/starting problem I would replace the 
starter bearing unless you are positive that it is good.Now is the time to 
do it better to replace it while the starter is out than to have to pull it 
later after you have tried other stuff that didn't work. If the 
bearing/bushing is worn the hole will be slightly egg shaped.If that is the 
case it could cause excessive draw and cause it to crank like it has a low 
battery.
  I'm following this discussion with interest to see what the resolution 
will be.
