Building a Racer to beat a Honda CRX - Options?

Just for shits and giggles, in the American LeMans Series the diesels (Audi
V12 is the only diesel currently running) are allowed 5.5L displacement vs.
3.6L for a gas engine. Turbo boost is ~28.5 psi, vs, 9 psi for the gas
engine and lastly the inlet restrictor size is 2ea 39.9mm vs. 2 ea 32.4mm
which equates to 50% more air at peak flow for the diesel.
That's what it takes to make a diesel match a gas engine's performance as
far as HP. 50% more displacement, 50% more airflow and almost twice the
absolute boost pressure!
A very interesting feature of the Audi diesel with Bosch injection utilizing
very quick acting piezo injectors is that the engine control actually pulses
the injectors during the power stroke several times instead of just one
squirt. The purpose is to limit peak cylinder pressure and therefor peak
torque to a level that the tranmission can handle over a 24 hour race.
Anyway, just illustrates that perhaps a diesel in the class Cory is
considering is a bit silly.
