Shifter Lever Question (Rabbit vs. Scirocco)

Here is a quick questions for the list.
I have plans on running a different Volkswagen shift knob and boot but the 
only problem is the Stock Scirocco shifter doesn't work.

I know you can cut & re-tap but I don't want to hack the lever.  So my 
question is can you replace a Scirocco lever for a straight lever out of a 
Rabbit?

Does anyone know where to buy a new rabbit lever?
