Corrado seats in a MK2

Just put a set of leather ones I found off of Craig's List for $100 in my 79
scirocco . Only have to modify the seat belt buckle receivers. Remove the
lap belt and shoulder buckle receiver, one on either side of the seat and
replace with the buckle adaptor from you old seats (might be the same
buckle if you are putting in another MK2). I found the Corrado seats sit a
little higher than the stock seats since my head was a little closer to the
roof and my thighs were touching the steering wheel when they weren't
before. I think this is due to the thicker padding and the beefier
adjusting system and not the 20lb gained over the holidays. They also
weighed more than the original S1 seats (did not put on scale but would
guess around 15lbs each) which pissed me off but hold you in nice and
tight. I think they would sit too low for a MK1 or MK2 Jetta/golf/rabbit
but others have said they work ok. Still prefer original S2 recaro style
bolstered seats over all the other bolt in OEM seats.
