low oil pressure?

Good idea to test your oil pressure with a new (to you) engine.
But the ticking noise could just be a bad lifter. My POS 16V makes the ticking noise on startup every time.
You can either use an oil additive such as Rislone in an attempt to clean out the lifter check valve and get it sealing again or you can replace the offending lifters.
Again, good idea to check your oil pressure in any event.
