Damn Volkswagen Coil Packs Update
Tonee,
As far as progress goes there hasn't been much... My buddy got stuck at
work this weekend so we couldn't scan my Jetta.
Actually I am just overwelmed by all the problems this car is having. Here
is the lastest problem which just started happening yesterday..
Coolant Temp Sensor is reading the car is cold. I had this replaced 10K ago
also...... I am almost at the point of bringing it to the stealership but
I don't trust any of them.

It could be an 02 sensor on it's way out also. I had the same acceleration
symptom right before my CAT took a dump too.

That is why we cleared the codes last night! I will most likely find out
this weekend what codes come back up if the CEL does come back on. I can
tell you the car is misfire still because I can feel it on my way to work.
But at highway speeds you can't feel it as much as in the city.
I changed the DV which could have been the boost leak problem. The CEL was
on the day I changed the DV so it might not say I have a boost leak this
time of the CEL comes on.

Brian I just talked to my guy at VW, he said to find the boost leak before
spending anymore money on it. One froblem could cause all of those.
I did have my CAT replaced last month when my car was running like crap, it
had gone into limp mode, and be lucky you don't have a vr, the CAT and DP
are all one piece.

scans my car works at the dealership and was telling me about them. But
this car is my daily driver plan in simple. So what can I do??
Like I said we cleared the codes last night. The main reason was to see if
the CEL would come back on with the same 3 codes. I am assuming code
1. boost leak between turbo and TB will not appear since the DV was changed.
I have 4 more days including today of work this week and on Saturday we are
going to pull her apart *in a heated garage* since temperatures here are in
single digits with wind chill in the -10's and start swapping out parts with
new ones.

Catalytic converter plugged now? I saw that happen a couple of dozen times
when I worked for VW, the coils would go bad, people would drive it that way
for too long (which really isnt that long, surprisingly) and the cat was
junked. Plugs fouled? I know you just checked them but you would be
surprised how quick they can get trashed during a misfire condition.

Since this is still a mystery here it a coil pack update.
Last night after work my friend stop by with Vag Com and his laptop. We
hooked to the ECU and wouldn't you know it the same list of codes came up.
1.) Boost leak between Turbo and TB (check DV)
2.) Misfire cylinder 1,2,4
3.) Map sensor lean condition
We cleared the codes and so far no CEL but the car is still running like
crap. I'm not as upset as I was before just trying to figure out why??
