[Not Mine!!!] FS: 020 Peloquin - Only Used 2000 Miles

I may be interested if no one has already jumped on it.

Still available, as far as I know...

First thing I need to know is an honest opinion on the peloquin dif.
I have a quaife at the moment, and I love it. So what is the difference
between the quaife and the peloquin difs? Are they basically the same?

They're almost functionally the same, in that they're both ATB's, but the
Peloquin will accept the factory shims, and the 40/80% kit.
Gary Peloquin designed it this way to reduce the back and forth power shift
between the front wheels, that you get with a lot of power and/or aggressive
driving. This also reduces any wear on the differential...

The factory trunion shafts were getting really expensive, so they're now
made by Peloquin and properly heat-treated (I need to update that page and
figure out why the picture isn't displaying).

Peloquin drives a diff. bolt through every ring gear hole, before having
heat-treated.
The reason for this is to avoid shaving off the splines on the diff bolts
that he presses in after the diff is heat-treated.

When you press the new bolts into the Peloquin diff., you have to line up
the splines on the diff. bolt, with the grooves on the ring gear hole,
before you press the new bolt in.

What additional items would be needed when installing the diff (I suspect
here would be seals, bearings, etc that would need replacing?)

Yes, I'd replace all the seals, the diff. bearings, not because they're worn
out, but because you need the races, and a new bolt kit.

Also, I am assuming the dif would install and work fine in a FN or FF
tranny. No restrictions as to which 020 it would work in.

Yes, it will fit fine...
The only draw back is that you can't run the shims, or 100mm CV's, without
grinding or swapping in another case half.
TIA,

Cory

No problem...

With an early trans, the Quaife and Peloquin work the same way.
