Damn Volkswagen Coil Packs

Have you tried gooping the top of the coil pack with RTV? I read this
somewhere. The misfire is caused by the cracked insulation of the coil pack
and the moist/damp surface. The spark jumps to ground across the surface.
The RTV puts on a new insulated surface. I would try baking the coil pack
in a low temperature oven setting first to drive out any moisture and then
slather on the RTV.

Good luck.
