differential took a poop

Looks like you've got all sorts of help already so I don't have much new
to offer... accept parts ; ). Remember that on most 8V's accept for a
couple Deisels your Flanges will be 90mm, 16V and some of those TD's will
have 100mm, inside that I don't know if the parts are the same or not but
you can replace alot of that stuff on the inside without taking out the
entire Trans. You'll see on some sites when searching that there's a "poor
Mans" LSD and all you're doing is putting a fatter ring inside where your
cups are and they push on their seat harder to lock up the diff a little.
This wears them down of course so you only get the effects for a short time.
Not important but sometimes they break and they're not a hard job to fix.
Probably not your problem but easy to check while your Flanges are off.
However if you do find that you have a bad Diff then you will only be able
to fix it by pulling the whole Trans apart. I haven't pulled mine out yet
but I have an FN that I'm about to put up. Make me an offer if you decide
you want it. I have lots of 2Y parts lying around also, like the Half axles
and I think I have one set of Flanges (cups). I have locals (New Mexico)
that I deal with for buying and selling parts usually so I don't know how
much help that will be for you.
