Difference in fit between Rabbit GTI mk1 and Scirocco mk2?

Thanks for all the input on the whole tall guy in a sunroof scirocco
issue. If any of you know - how does the mk1 rabbit gti fit compared
to the scirocco mk2?

i.e. I want to know if all Mk.2 Scirocco blower motors are the same.

This was for a car with AC? Right?
ETKA lists the same motor and harness from 82 on.

The motor itself is the same for all MK2 and MK 1. The connector is
different for MK 1's though.
Easy enough to splice in the original connector.

The one you sent me pics of is a Mk.1/Rabbit blower motor.

The pics you sent came with this description:
"No I don't but here is the title of the ebay listing:
VW Blower Fan Motor 1980 Rabbit GTI Scirocco Jetta"

I want to know if all Mk.2 Scirocco blower motors are the same, since
I have
several Mk.2 heater boxes, with fans.

Thanks...

No the motors are different. Especially where they mount is
different. The
Scirocco one has a band that clips around the end of the motor. The
one I
sent you pictures mounts internal to the squirrel cage.

My question is: are Scirocco 2 blower motors the same?

A friend need's a squirrel cage fan, aka blower motor for his '82 w/
AC, and
I have several blower motors, from '84 and '85 8V, and a few 16V ones.

Are the Mk.2 Scirocco blower motors the same, or interchangeable?

Thanks...

No they are different. I bought one cheap off ebay but it is completely
different from the one in my 1986 scirocco. Even the way it mount and
the
way the motor is mounted.

I have mentioned these before and I still have no affiliation, and I
still
like them. EdgeRacing dot com has Toyo T1R's for $70/tire in the
195/45/14
size. This will fit the stock 14X5.5 rims and shrink your overall
diameter
giving you a little better throttle response and almost NO sidewall
flex.
The drawback is that you lose some topspeed and you may need to take
a day
or two to get used to shifting sooner and running higher RPM at highway
speeds.

Or if you want to spend the money:

I have 40 ET (mm offset) on my rims on my A2 Jetta and they fit fine
with no
rubbing. Tires are 195/55/15. I'm thinking of getting a set of
Sportmax's
though and theyre 15X8 and 0 ET. Should be interesting, don't know if
they'll fit yet either.

How wide are the rims on your Jetta? I can't imagine 0ET would fit the
front at all and I'd think they would really stick out insanely in
the rear.
Dunno though.

Click on day 2. Pics are even usable by those on dial up!

My hands are numb from using the DA for 6 hours.... But, the hood is
on final sand, the trunk lid and the PS fender are acid treated and
awaiting primer.
next is the front support (was yellow then painted Mars Red) then the
DS fender. Once done, the glass is removed and the cowl is prepped
and the hood is then replaced on the car ready for Bondo.

Then the 2 doors get the treatment next...

My hats off to those that do this for a living.

Back when I ordered my sprayer, they stocked another nozzle
(presumably larger diameter). I cant find it now, but it may be worth
asking them about/for.

If it makes you feel any better, when I first owned my '86 the relay
when out in Wisconsin. Took a $350 U-Haul tow dolly and way too much gas
to tow it back down here to Ohio. Now every car has a jumper wire.

FWIW, Vanagons the same high beam lights as the Euro Sciroccos,
though the adjusters are different. Gives you something else to look
for.

That's kind of what I'm hoping. Right now they're 15X7 with the
195/55/15's
and they don't have that Euro stretch look at all. The 15x8's will
probably
look real stretched and stick out alot with the 0 ET. With the low pro
tires I don't think the Diameter will be alot bigger but I'm not sure
yet.
I have to look at some fit guides.
