Water in my car need rubbers

  Had similar happen to my '86. My drip rails weren't too bad so I set them
out in the sun to soften them and removed the factory adhesive (left the metal
strip). I reattached with 1/2" moulding tape and haven't had a problem since.
Unfortunately, it's one of those 8v Scirocco specific parts.
