one more problem with breaks

I didn't see any other emails from you... sometimes they get bounced
from the list for one reason or another. Attachments usually kicks
them back. My schedule is a little crazy so I reply at odd times. I
have never really seen this group of people not come forward for a
friend in need, just remember there is a unwritten protocol of sorts.

There are really no stupid questions... (be silent Comrade Spewey)
However as a courtesy search the older posts so that if it's been
covered before, it will save someone from reposting old info. Also
the Bentley manual is an excellent source of info, I think you said
you had one, but if not simply ask it is out there in PDF format
(maybe not for an 80 yet)

So problems with your brakes...

Drum brakes are so much fun. Um... yea. I don't have the manual in
front of me so I am kinda talking out of my ass here. I am sure if I
lead you astray there will be someone that will be kind enough to
correct me. I didn't get the whole story but you have done brake work
of some sort? Bleeding because they were squishy in the pedal?
Without knowing what the story I can only brainstorm.

Cables can bind in the jackets, rust... a lack of lubrication can do
this or simply a 26 year old brake cable is done.

As for the brake arm itself you have to make sure that it is assembled
correctly and that all of the springs and levers are in the proper
place. It is a little hard to describe in an email and there isn't a
great picture of it in the bentley but I will try.

Do you have digital camera? If you take a pic I may be able to spot
something amiss. Meanwhile I do have a pic somewhere I will try to
find.

Not a lot of help but I hope it helps some.
