10-step wash/wax



Iirc, the clay bar is supposed to lift chemicals that may penetrate the paint itself - to the surface, or removed entirely.  Usually
the clay bar achieves the goal, but it does not remove scratches from the surface, which is left to the buffing/polishing compound.

BTW - I've witnessed the clay bar action first hand - amazing what it can pull out of the paint.
