Alternator source

Get a (Bosch or Bosch Authorized) rebuilt.

I went through the same thing - searching by the OEM part number. As
best as I could tell, the new cars get the new alts and replacements are
all rebuilds. Mine was rebuilt by Bosch (probably a Bosch authorized
rebuilder) so I considered it as good as new. The part number is
different for the rebuilds but the alt is the same.
