  Keep in mind that the size of the contact patch is also related to the diameter of the tire, so you would not only gain rubber in width, but also in length.  The trick would be getting away with a low enough tire pressure without unseating a tire.  Beadlocks?  Hehe.



Still, 80 pounds at all the wrong places sounds like the wrong tree to bark up, but I'm just guessing.  Hard to believe no one makes good rubber any wider than 225 for anything under "bling" diameter rims.
