Help getting my car to run

Well, Cathy seems to have covered most of it. (but I'll go over some of it
again anyway!)
It sounds like when the battery is charged that the engine is turning over
at a reasonable speed on the starter.
Next is to make sure the fuel pump is running. You should be able to hear it
when you initially turn the key or after you stop cranking for a few
seconds. You can also check for pressure by cracking one of the fuel lines
at the fuel filter. Just crack it and watch for leaking fuel. Don't whack it
open and spray everything with fuel.
Next I'd check for spark. Both Brian and Brett posted how to do this in the
recent thread "Car No Go" so I won't eleborate.
Next I'd check the cold start injector and thermotime switch per the
Bentley. The car may actually run just fine, but not start if these
components aren't functioning correctly.
Another way to approach this is to remove the plastic pipe that runs from
the CIS metering unit to the throttle body, hold the throttle plate open and
squirt Easy Start or carb cleaner into the throttle body. ( not Brakleen
since it isn't flamible) Then if you crank the engine you should get a few
putts and a momentary rev. If that happens then the ignition side is
probably firing and reasonably timed and you should then focus on figuring
out the fuel side.
