I stripped the heat shield that I got from John Worden this morning and prepped it with Phosphoric acid. Almost ready for paint!

But.... As I leaned on the spare tire well I realised that is mostly held together with paint and that spray on stuff. ACCKK.
So a trip to the junk yard later, I have the bottom of a bunny spare tire well, some neato switches from an audi and a sheet of heavy aluminum. (don't ask about the aluminum yet...)

So much for uploading the new tank this weekend... Spare tire well first.
