WTGA set of teardrops

I wonder if scrap wheels are worth anything, because aren't VW wheels 
generally
an alloy?  I've handled and installed aluminum wheels and none (except the 
original
MkI wheels) seemed to be aluminum, or had issues on having to re torque once or
twice.
