One of my future plans for my '88 is a 2 litre upgrade.  I had thought 
that only the B3 Passat came with the big 16v, but lately I've heard 
they were available in early GTI/GLI's.
Anybody know any specifics?  VINs, years, etc, etc...

It's late A2's '90, '91, and '92.

They also use the heavier duty front end, like the B3 Passat.
Bigger ball-joints, and bearings...
