Bump: Ok. How about the MKI tank?

ETKA does have pictures of the layout. I know some people are able to save the images as jpegs or gifs or whatever. I can't figure it out for the life of me!!!!

Thanks Dan. Good description.
I like Pics so I can "see" what I am doing before I get under the car. This way I can plan the removal etc.
I want to replace all the rubber from front to back and treat any rust I find. Replacing the accumulator is one part. That thing is 25 years old and rusted. I have NO idea what I am going to find once the stuff is down and out!
If the car is in this many pieces, I might as well do as much as possible so I dont have the same sort of problem I had at Cincy last year :)

>Looking at the Rabbit part of ETKA and going from memory of Kirsten's car, there are four hose connections to the tank. Two vents, right-top-front and right-top-rear.
>Fuel return line right-top of tank.
>Fuel delivery line right-bottom of tank that goes straight to the fuel pump, from pump to accumulator, from accumulator to steel line running to front of car (conveniently right by the rear of the passenger side A-arm so as to be in the way if you want to add sway bars to your MK I!)
>The purpose of the accumulator is to damp out pump pulses as Julie mentioned, but also to keep pressure on the system to prevent vapor lock and probably also assure there is fuel in the system at the metering unit when you attempt to start it the next time.
