I've ran into issues where grime gets cached up in the sockets, preventing the 12 pt from inserting fully, causing it to strip the
couple of mm of bite that it does have.  A bit of work with a screwdriver clears out the holes, and tapping the 12 pt driver home
then allows proper leverage on the bolt without slipping/stripping.
