Mk II Air Conditioning?



I don't believe the pressure switches control the compressor. The thermostat controls compressor clutch on/off.
There is a low pressure switch that prevents the compressor from running if the freon charge is too low to prevent damage to the compressor and there is a high pressure switch that turns on the radiator high speed fan once the high-side pressure is above a certain point.
The pressure switches are not valved to my knowledge.
I can't see how the pressure switches, considering their relative functions can be responsible for compressor cycling, but don't have enough experience otherwise to suggest what might be causing it other than, perhaps, a bad expansion valve. (the expansion valve is always the problem unless you have a leak)
