OT: Oil companies
The Canadian owner's manual and the sticker inside the fuel cover of
my 84 Scirocco says to use minimum 91 RON. But for my 96 Jetta, it says
to use minimum 87. (Which is why the Scirocco thinks 87 octane is baby
drink :-) ) Besides, any time I used 87 in the Scirocco, it knocked.
While the Canadian Gallon is bigger than the US Gallon, you use the
same Octane rating as we do :-)
But you are right, I was under the impression that Research Octane
Rating was the only measure in use. My bad.
