Suspension Question

Larry,

I know the question is an oxymoron, you get what you pay for when it comes
to suspension.
I gave him my two opinions with both of them being $$.. I told him Shine
Racing and Koni AD with coilover sleeves or even doing bilsteins with H&R
springs.

An auto-x school would be the best way to spend the money, I understand that
but your 100% correct talking him into that is going to be hard. My
approach on this matter to him was run Noivce for the rest of this year and
next year, then run in a stock class before jumping right to FSP.

I been to quite a few auto-x now and I am not a shame to say I am still
running Novice. Next year I will make a change, just need a car to do that
with. My 01 Jetta doesn't cut it for me although I can manage some okay
times.

Anyway I got alittle off track.

A good cheap suspension?

Oxymoron. (not you....the question)

Tires would be first expenditure get the most aggressive compound the class
will allow.
Then, if there's any money left (and there won't be much) get the widest
rims the class will allow.
He should be well over the $800 by now.....

Actually, the money would be much better spent on an auto-x school. But
you'll have a hard time convincing your buddy of that...

Hey gang,

I am trying to help a friend out and wanted to get your opinion as well
before giving him my final answer.
The car is a strong running 16v Scirocco, and my friend wants to know what
would be a good cheap suspension setup for Auto-X. He has a just about $800
to spend on the car, and his two major concerns to me was suspension and
tires.

So if you have any input please let me know ASAP.
