lowering?

Most lowering springs are only around $200.
Cutting the stock springs will probably change the handling balance of the
car. Back in the day before I knew any better I cut the springs on my 84 8V.
It wasn't all bad as far as ride, but it did make the car understeer pretty
bad. I had to install a bigger rear bar to rebalance the handling.
Far easier and much less of a crap shoot as far as getting good results to
just pop for a spring set.
Be prepared to buy bump stops, upper strut bearings and shock shaft covers
( for want of a better term) for when you get in there and find a bunch of
crap.
