Scirocco sighting, and another, and another!

Yeah, we just got back from the Leaven's VW event at Grand Bend ON.
Threatening weather kept many away, and we almost didn't go either.

But!!! there was a red 16V, the lady had repo'd it from her son!!!! She and
her hubby had been restoring it and I gave them info about the list, hope
we see them here soon. Nice car! Then in the staging lanes....red 16V!!!,
another nice one, with carbs so I was told (never saw the hood open).
Another attempted recruitment, but maybe for the Oct track day. Geoff H.,
who was also there did NOT have his (cue drum roll) red 16V show car there
this time, but is very interested in Cincy, hopefully HE'll join the list
too. So that was three owners of red 16Vs. All 1987s too. Then there was a
white 16V in the process of becoming a red 16V, new front end bits due to
an accident after the June show. The owner was nowhere to be seen, but Daun
knows who I'm talking about. So that one's alive again.

I survived to semi-finals, then red lighted, what the heck's with that?
Denny and I had a great day, the cars both ran well for the six hours of
road time there and back, and as always, "the Bend" remains our favorite
track. And any day with Sciroccos is a day well spent. I just love these
cars :)
