Well, a few more things I should mention....pretty well in reverse
order...Last night I got word from Andy W. that they'd had an interesting
trip home to Indy. 1 1/2 hours IIRC to get through the border (just volume
I think, but he had Anson as a passenger, so who knows? ) He figured out
what the deal was with his car, it had been running lean all weekend (which
is a bit of a concern with a turbo), and unhooking the O2 sensor fixed it.
Too bad he didn't get it fixed on the way here, it would have made for a
better time at the track. After a short bit of having the car running
nicely, he encountered some heavy traffic and decided to change lanes to
avoid it, only to discover a tire in the way (too late to stop). So out
with three quarts of oil courtesy of oil cooler damage. Limping to a nearby
rest area after rerouting the lines found them another motorist who could
add to Andy's spare quart of oil, and that gave them enough to get to a
service station I guess. Then there was a melted ground issue under the
dash. Yep, Sciroccos....always an adventure.

Meredith had a bit of work to do on her Jetta here in my driveway, an
annoying rattle turned out to be two busted exhaust hangers, so that bit of
pipe was flopping around quite well...After they left she phoned saying she
couldn't contact Ben, he'd needed to talk to Customs on the way home, so
she'd driven on ahead and agreed to meet him on the road, since he'd agreed
to drive a bit faster for a stint in that gorgeous car of his. Have I
mentioned how delicious his car is? So we were worried about what had
happened to him, turned out his phone had gone AWOL.

Why did he have to stop at Customs, you may ask? To recover the duty he'd
had to pay on his race rubber entering Canada. Yep, a set of used race
rubber is worth $1100 according to Canada Customs, and we all know Ben is a
big dealer of used race rubber. Customs can be such a wild card. Anyway,
I'm sure there are more tales to tell, Sean's coming here tomorrow to get
his car mobile again, and then all I'll have is memories, sniff...
