High idle question...

Hi list,

This is for my friend Sean's 85.  It's been idling high lately, and
after squeezing various hoses we discovered that if the vacuum line
that attaches to the valve cover (and "T"'s over to the intake
manifold and a/c relay dealie) is squeezed the idle returns to normal.
 The idle only goes to normal if the hose is squeezed between the "T"
and the valve cover.  Any idea's?
