Well, if they're Teflon lined then no.
Otherwise I'd think they'd need some sort of lubrication, but the underhood
environment with all the dust and dirt isn't going to be a good place for
any exposed lubrication since it'll catch the dirt and carry it into the
bearings.
I'd leave them unlubricated.
Personally I'm using shielded rod ends from McMaster Carr, PN 6058K42.
