A quickie, firing order 16V

I sent that correction to Bentley almost a decade a go, when I figured out
that it has to be counter-clockwise, since the distributor runs off of the
exhaust cam.

The newer '85-93 A1 Bentleys have it right, and Bentley sent me a new
edition as thanks. The A2 Bentley was always correct...

Btw, all in-line 4 cylinders I've seen, or read about have had a 1 - 3 - 4 -
2 firing order.

Btw2, this is probably the 6th time I've posted this to the list.

Cathy, I checked my Bentley for the 2.0l 16V motor in the hopes that if
there was a typo in the 1.8l book they would have fixed it by this one.

Here is the quote:
"... the cylinder firing order is 1-3-4-2 looking at the top of the
distributor cap, the wires go to the cylinders in counter clock wise
order."
Other notes which I am sure you know:
"Cylinder #1 is the one on the passenger side closest to the drive belt
cover."  And "the rotor points to the #1 terminal on the cap when #1
cylinder is near Top Dead Center (TDC)."

Hmmm, won't start, and it had been fine, cranks well and sure has
gas.....
So to confirm, on the cap, 1 is in the uppermost/towards the firewall
position on the cap, and you go clockwise from there, right?
