Why is the hatch so heavy? (spinoff from fabsvr6 fiberglass stuff) (again?)

Yeah, the Mk2 hatch is glass, metal frame, spoiler and
wiper assembly.  Each of which adds up, but the glass
- if you've ever had a decent piece of glass out -
definitely weighs a considerable amount.  It's a big piece.
