Jetta GLI ground cable

I replace the stock negative cable with two shorter ones, and maybe that's
what they mean. I run one from the negative terminal to the ground which is
buried under the airbox (on the frame), and then from there, a second one
to the grounding bolt on the tranny. I know that without that tranny
connection the car won't start well except if you're real lucky, mine had
that strap omitted when the dealer did the engine swap, and it started okay
for two years after that, and all of s sudden decided it couldn't find
grounded goodness. That moment was my official cutting of the apron strings
too, I think the dealer only saw the car for the gas tank recall after
that.

So, maybe they're spec'ing two short cables to replace the factory ground
strap which attaches in three places?
