How to get Mk1 fenders off?

I have parted out a lot of VWs and fenders are a bear.

Make sure you have every single bolt out.  Especially the ones under the 
coating in back and on bottom.

Then, use a utility knife to cut as deep as you can along the fender seam. 
Make many cuts, at slightly different angles.  To heat, a heat gun works 
perfectly, I don't like flames that close under there.  With some work it 
will come off.  Don't just use force, as you will damage it - guaranteed.
