Steering column question

Hey guys,
I still have a tilt steering column from the 91 GTI I parted last summer
and I was kind of thinking it would be kinda nice to have tilt in my rocco.
I remember in my 83 I was alway hitting my knee on the wheel when getting in
and out of it. SO, would the tilt column from an A2 fit in my 82 rocco?
