I agree it seems that the trannies are ridiculously bad, but Im knocking on wood and mine has been behaving like a good sport..... uh, oh and purely kiding..."some" people expect a rise of me on automatic subjects, Rigth Boys?
 
I do hope that my Trannie holds other wise I will have to build one like the guy in Puerto Rico that is Running 10's on an Auto trannie that he uses also as a street car.

Not quite sure if you're speaking tongue-in-cheek, but I think Allyn meant that the VW transaxles 
themselves are prone to failure, not that the entire car was trashy.
