Re: 20.8 KM Nürburgring in 6 Min 55 Sec + Video

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the engine yet. All it says in the article is that it is "a 2.6-litre high-revving V8 engine, built in-house by Powertec, developing 360bhp"...

So, any of you into sport bikes at all? Divide those numbers by two. Think of the most bad-ass 1.3L four cyl bike out there, developing around 180hp...but with two of 'em mated to one crankshaft...with the same six-speed, shared sump, sequential transmission. Yeah...you got it: a V8 Hyabusa! The whole engine and transmission assembly weighs next to nothing...literally like 150lbs or something (i don't remember). Now, strap it into a car that weighs about 1100lbs, and you can go set track records even on street tires.

The engine was in Race Car Engineering last year sometime. All I have to say is Oooohhh-yeah!!
