My best was the time I crossed the border with a huge box of irises (
properly documented, mind you) and half a Passat, headed for Ohio. I mean,
hood, bumpers...big stuff. I love one seat configuration. It'd suit me fime
to leave it that way. Passengers add too much weight.

Oh, and regarding seats, if you go MkI/MkII, you may find the seat nelt
anchors also need to be swapped out. And while I'm on it, the rear bench
from a later MkI (80+) won't fit 79 and older without modding the brackets.
(width difference). Or at least S benches won't fit my 79. And the fronts
are mighty comfy.....:)
