4 point harnesses?

Julie,

Those harnesses kinda look like crap to me, but they are cheap and probably work reasonably well. My personal favorite for a harness is RCI's 5-point harnesses that use a cam to release the 4 belts from the center belt. It is less fussy than the funky latch things on most belts. RCI also happens to be a small company located about 2 miles from my house. I was going to hit them up for some stuff for the GRM car (fuel cell and harness), so let me know if you want me to ask for an extra harness for you and how much it is worth to you.

To answer the main question, the bolts almost certainly will come out. However, the best way to mount something like this is to avoid using the mounting brackets they include, and wrap the straps around part of a roll cage bar. Obviously, you may not have a roll cage, but if you do, then put in a cross bar a couple of inches below the top of the seat and wrap the straps through it in the same way they are wrapped through the included mounting brackets. The cross bar should be an inch or two below a line drawn perpendicular to the seat back at the top of the seat's shoulders. If you are super tall, then the line should be perpendicular to the seat back and touching the tops of your shoulders.
