16v fuel pumping woes



Pretty sure it is just the sound of the fuel pump
filtering up through the engine compartment.  It is
just a few feet back under the body on that side and
quite a noisy thing.

Now, if you put the ignition to ON and don't hear it,
you have some problem with the pump, whether
electrical or whatever. Check with a known good fuel
pump relay (I've gone through three on this 8v), then
if that is good, check for voltage at the pump, and so
on.

Last thing, of course, is the very expensive pump
itself.  We all hate that.
