Speaking of speedo's



Sounds to me like the needle's angular position on the speedo shaft isn't right.
If it was the wrong gear then it would get progressively more inaccurate at higher speeds since it's 
always off by 7%.
If you bend the needle up over the stop pin at 0 MPH it should align with some very light marks on 
the speedo face. You might have to pull it off and realign.
