h1/h4 conversion (glowing eyes/pseudo city lights)

   i tried a quick search in the archives but wasn't able to find what 
i'm looking for. i replaced my seald beams with h1/h4 bulbs and like the 
looks of them. problem is that with my low beams on the h1's glow 
slightly. with my high beams on, the h4's seemingly shut down and glow 
slightly. i don't have them relayed yet (next on the list), but why is 
this happening? i used the stock plugs on the harness (seem to work) and 
i'm thinking that it has to do with the low power/high power wires on 
the back. am i correct in thinking this? also, what purpose do the h4 
connectors that were recently talked about serve? thanx.
