Purple power will stain aluminium a dull grey... not a problem if you intend to bead blast the piece but not ideal as a final clean.

Speaking of Dan's Thanksgiving Turkey, what is the "best" way to clean a trans case? I'm putting
best in quotes because I am looking for something I can do at home, not having it dipped in some
acid bath that I might actually have to PAY for!. So far I'm guessing I need to soak the
thing in Purple Power for a while and scrub what I can. Can I use EZ-off or other oven cleaner on
the alumunum??
