Well, I drove a LOT of those silly cars, so I'm for real. Probably drove at
least 80 or so CX's, a dozen DS's a few SM's and every XM that was imported
into the US. They're verrryy comfy and super stable at high speeds.....and
they're ugly (sorry T).
I would think your 16V would be quieter, considering that it probably has
the latest and greatest soundproofing that VW offered for Sciroccos. Any
idea why the 83 would be quieter? Maybe the door seals are in better shape?
Or a quieter exhaust?

I like quiet.
But I have a TT/dynomax setup.

I have been driving my Cali Ed a bit lately thanks to a very uncooperative
16v and moderately uncooperative Bunny Truck. My Cali Ed is the first car
since my RIP Benz that is so quiet inside that I can talk on the cell phone
while driving and the person on the other end can't tell that I'm in a car.
